MapleStory Classic World: What U4N Players Should Know

MapleStory Classic World has taken another important step toward release after Nexon completed two Closed Online Tests in 2026. For players interested in

and the game’s nostalgic progression, these tests offered a useful look at how the modern recreation is taking shape. Although both tests were temporary, they provided valuable information about gameplay systems, progression, classes, maps, and quality-of-life features. Most importantly, Nexon confirmed that all progress from the closed tests would be wiped rather than transferred to the eventual launch.

The First Closed Test
The first Closed Online Test ran from April 16 through April 23, 2026. Access was limited to roughly 5,000 selected testers who had registered through Nexon’s website. Rather than opening the entire game, this phase concentrated on the foundations of the experience.

Players could explore Maple Island and Victoria Island while progressing up to a level cap of 50. This approach allowed Nexon to observe how players experienced the early stages of the game, including character progression, quests, combat, exploration, and other fundamental systems.

The first test also included milestone rewards. Testers who completed certain quests could unlock the Classic Beginnings Label Ring and Chat Ring, which were designed to be claimable when the official game launches. These rewards gave participants an additional reason to explore the available content instead of simply testing isolated mechanics.

A Much Larger Second Test
The second Closed Online Test took place from August 4 through August 12, 2026, and represented a considerably broader version of the game. Nexon expanded the available world by adding Orbis and El Nath, two locations that significantly increased the amount of territory available to explore.

The level cap was also raised to 100. Third Job Advancements became available, allowing testers to experience a deeper portion of class progression. Nexon additionally provided level boosts so participants could sample higher-level gameplay and provide feedback without having to spend the entire test period leveling from the beginning.

Quality of Life Takes Center Stage
One of the most noticeable changes in the second test was the introduction of modern accessibility options. Native macOS support became available, expanding the number of computers capable of running the test. Full controller support was also introduced, giving players an alternative to traditional keyboard-and-mouse controls.

These additions are interesting because Classic World is built around nostalgia while still being developed for contemporary players. Supporting newer control methods and operating systems can make the experience more convenient without necessarily changing the underlying identity of the game.

Experimental Skill Changes
The second test also featured significant skill-balancing experiments. Nexon adjusted mobility and hunting abilities to create a faster-paced combat experience. Skills such as Arrow Rain, Flash Jump, and Assaulter received substantial cooldown reductions or had cooldowns removed during the test.

Because these changes were experimental, they should not necessarily be interpreted as final launch mechanics. Closed tests allow developers to gather feedback and evaluate systems before deciding what should remain.

What Happens Next
Both tests were temporary experiences, and character progress, items, and other data were wiped afterward. Players therefore should not expect their test characters to continue into the official version. The tests were also distributed through the Nexon Launcher rather than Steam, with Mac support added during the second phase.

At present, Nexon has not announced an Open Beta or official release date. That leaves the community waiting for another announcement while the development team evaluates feedback from the two closed phases.

For players planning their future progression, it may also be useful to understand the game's economy before launch. Those interested in

should keep an eye on official announcements and community information, since the final trading environment may differ from what was available during testing.

The most important takeaway is that Classic World is moving forward, but many launch details remain unconfirmed. As more information becomes available, players will have a clearer picture of progression, classes, economy, and the final gameplay experience.
